After Digital Glasgow

ABOUT

Looking to showcase their expertise and provide transparent market data to their customer base, EDF Energy selected us to design and develop an intuitive digital solution enabling EDF Energy to achieve their aims. Having worked on their agency roster for the last few months and after delivering other projects for EDF, we were delighted to get involved with them again to deliver the ‘Market Insights Portal’.

We began this process as we do with all others - with an in-depth research and discovery phase. Spending time on site with EDF allowed us to get to know the team, the requirements for the project and allowed us to brainstorm new approaches to complex data. We take this approach to our new projects as not only does it allow us to get a greater understanding of the business, how it operates and the key aims for the project, we can share our knowledge with the client to help them improve.

Working from a mobile perspective, we spent time prioritising content and from here, we developed wireframes and mapped out key user journeys for using the market insights portal. We then moved into the design process and utilising our UX experience, we collaborated with our front-end team for best practice responsive templates.

In the first month since launch, the website saw a 2,900% growth in new users and an average of 300 users each month. Not only has this been a success amongst users, the Market Insights portal has gone on to win the internal Inspire Award for innovation at EDF’s internal awards for which only exceptional pieces of work are put forward. Not only has the portal beat off competition from projects which have cost more than 30 times as much to deliver, several key competitors are now developing similar solutions to compete with the Market Insights Portal.

After working with EDF on this project and on the CCS portal, we are delighted to be working on phase two of this project, Home Move project and their five year digital roadmap.
