ABOUT
In Norway, a new hip fracture is registered every hour. It is a strain for the individual and for relatives. Many never get back the quality of life they had before the breakup. Hip fractures are a challenge for public health and costly for society. Hip fractures can be prevented. Strength and balance exercises and a safety check at home are a good start. "Safe seniors in your own home" is an illustrated information booklet that aims to inform seniors, relatives and public employees about opportunities and challenges in their houses, so that the elderly can live in their own homes as long as possible. It provides an increased quality of life for the elderly and saves society large costs.
