ABOUT

The latest instalment of Asda's and VCCP's #BecauseitsChristmas campaign follows two dogs as they partake in what can only be described as a canine Christmas love story. The spot sees the departure from more traditional and emotional, pull-at-your-heartstrings advertising that has prevailed over the last few years, instead providing some light and comical relief.

Aired on the 21st of November during an episode of "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here," the spot takes a satirical look at the all too familiar Christmas love story, but this time with a canine twist.

Set to Jennifer Rush’s “The Power of Love”, the short film begins with two dogs running longingly towards each other across a park in slow-motion. Dressed suitably for the occasion, both dogs and their owners are decked out in flamboyant and festive attire including christmas jumpers and antlers, all of which are available to buy in Asda’s stores. The ad finishes as both dogs finally meet in the middle for a Christmas kiss, whilst their owners look on in amusement, before finally turning to walk away.

The ad can be found on both Facebook and Asda's website and will also be shown on TV.
