About me
As a freelancer who's worked in TV and advertising for the past two years, I have experience in a wide variety of roles. I thrive as part of a team and as such love the day-to-day buzz of working in a live studio or a busy location shoot, just as much as the demands made on you when writing copy for a fast-approaching deadline: being composed and clear-headed in any environment is one of my greatest assets.
Before moving to London I organised two tours to the Edinburgh Fringe. Thanks to a demanding cast and crew and a meagre budget this experience taught me to be organised, firm and also how to improvise in the line of fire.
Through the daily challenges of managing Cellcast's Dating TV, developing a feature film and working on personal writing projects, I have always been able to combine my creativity with a strong work ethic. During my time at Dating TV and Psychic TV my statistical analysis and logistical skills have been honed, as well as my brand-building and sales techniques. This has helped me when shooting adverts, corporate videos and branding shows I have been developing.
What all of this means, is that I am used to juggling many jobs at once and I am as proficient at brainstorming as I am at planning ahead for rainy days. I am not someone who just enjoys talking about making something; I'm someone who relishes the whole creative process, particularly when I see successful results.
I have great intuition (I do work for a psychic show after all), which I use to bring the best out of people. I don't get results by being the loudest guy in the room; instead I work with integrity, intelligence and a firm conviction when it comes to both my capabilities and those I'm working with.
It's also important I am fully aware that I don't always have the answers. I have no qualms about seeking help, yet I also know that when it's time to make a call, I can do so. With all of this in mind I generate a level of respect with the people I work with, which benefits the entire team and therefore the final product.
