ABOUT

Supakino focuses on themed film screenings in London. Supakino needed a brand identity that set it apart from other film institutions/clubs. A brand that focused on what Supakino is out to achieve, showcasing the best in cult and indie films. The logo had to resonate with the themes in the types of films that would be shown at the events, whilst also creating a new character for the brand.

A playful, flexible logo was developed, that focuses on a sense of fun, approachability and timelessness. Based on the concept "And so, the plot thickens" the logo has been designed to look like it's moving forward, relating directly to the development of a plot, each minute as a film progresses we are learning more and relating more to the characters and the story being told, we are essentially moving forward through the story line. The secondary subliminal reference is that of moving image, by introducing a slant, a feeling of movement can be perceived in the logotype.

The aim for this brand identity was to create a logo that will become recognised, and create a new cinema subculture that will obtain a cult following.
