About me

Vivienne Whitaker - Marketing Manager, The Salvation Army

Combining my strong interest in branding with my creative skills, I have worked to uphold and promote some of the countries most recognised and trusted brands - including TFL's roundel and The Salvation Army's red shield - and recently oversaw a major branding project for The Salvation Army, its first ever since it began 150 years ago.

With a passion for design, I worked as the Marketing Manager for Marks Barfield (designers of the London Eye), plus ran the Awards programme at the Civic Trust Awards for best design in the public realm. Through my marketing position at London's Transport Museum I fostered a keen interest in the development of the roundel as a major brand, how it evolved as TFL developed, and the organisation's impact on typography.

For me, a strong brand is crucial for the success of an organisation, and this goes for deeper than just a name and logo - it is a focus on its values, words, imagery, style, culture
