About me

I am a social media and communications professional, active in the higher education and charity sectors.

As Social Media Coordinator at the University of Cambridge, I am actively involved in the everyday planning, publishing, high volume comment moderation, and analysis of organic social media content on their social media channels. I manage small and medium sized social media campaigns around anniversaries and student activities throughout the year, while deputising on larger campaigns. I lead on the direction of the University's Instagram account, which includes research, testing, content strategy, and analysis.

I also volunteer as the Director of Communications for the Karim Foundation, a Cambridge-based charity that aims to relieve poverty by providing food and fuel support for local families and individuals in financial hardship. The Karim Foundation was highly commended at the 2022 BBC Make a Difference Awards, being one of four finalists shortlisted for the Community Group Award.

I have a wealth of experience across broadcast media and public relations. I was a production journalist at ITV Anglia, tasked with leading their diversity initiative for the East of England, and a production assistant for ITV News at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. During , I was the Social Media Officer of Cambridge Central Mosque, playing a crucial role in communicating key messages at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
