About me

My professional expertise combines the theoretical study of creative media (cinema, press) with practice-based projects in web promotion, journalism and performance art. My facebook page (more 9000 friends) and blog (*) create dynamic platform of communication. Material presented there has reached distinguished magazines in UK and abroad (Corridor 8, Lifo). My promotional work has received excellent feedbacks from distinguished artists, journalists and entrepreneurs. Dimitris Papaioannou, the director of Open ceremony Athens 2004 publicly praised my work. Beyond the web, I have successfully organized innovative forms of networking: I staged marketing-art happenings (Confessor Queen) that combined stand-up comedy with leaflet distribution and street-interaction for the launch of Allery Gallery.

I currently hold an honorary affiliation with the University of Manchester which enabled me to work as liaison between the university and art institutions and galleries. Over the past month I interviewed numerous artists, curators and writers, among them David Morris the head of Collections of Whitworth Gallery who gave me a really insightful overview of the main strategies of cultural institutions in Manchester. My overall professional experience in office jobs but also in research and teaching positions offered me a number of skills which are quite suitable for the demands of creative industries. I know how to organise and simplify complex information. When I worked at the Department of External Relations of Birkbeck College, Uni. of London, I learned in practice how to deal with the inquiries of customers and how to 'sell' an idea.

Last September I produced, presented and promoted an interactive/applied theatre happening this taught me how to assume responsibility for the organization of an event, to be flexible with working hours and most importantly, to be prepared for unexpected problems. It also taught me to be an excellent time -manager by advancing and adapting my organizational skills within fixed deadlines. I understand very well the importance of detail: As a researcher and a practitioner, I saw in practice that small mistakes often cause big problems. I have excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as a rich experience in working with Microsoft work (Word, Excel, Outlook). I have worked within small teams (college administration) but also as an independent researcher. A telling indicator of my diplomatic and interpersonal skills is the series of interviews with academic staff and curators that I arranged for my blog (post nubila blog) but also my teaching experience with multicultural students.. Bellow I am listing a series of samples of my promotional work online. In the cv you can have a more detailed overview of my experiences, skills and qualifications
