October 2007

Welcome to our third newsletter. We've had a bit of fun putting this together this month as there has been a load of things going on! We also upgraded our server this month - so hope you all have noticed the difference in speed on the site...

The Yellow Jelly Design Competition

We've found a great Design Comp and are proud to sponsor Yellow Jelly, a graphic design competition hosted by Adrem Creative Recruitment.

Open to designers of all levels, the Yellow Jelly brief will be set by a major brand in the industry, giving designers the chance to really make their mark and get some fantastic exposure. Shortlisted entries will form an exhibition at the dreamspace gallery in February 2008 and the winner and runners-up will be presented with their prizes at an exclusive presentation party. Whatever your level, contact the dreamspace gallery for an entry pack now. Click here for more information. The deadline is 14th January 2008.

The Green Awards 2007

On Friday 26 October, the winners of The Green Awards 2007 were announced at London's Guildhall.

Launched last year, The Green Awards recognise outstanding creative work that communicates the importance of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development and ethical best practice. All sectors and marketing disciplines were included with award entries promoting anything from fair trade and renewable energy to resource efficiency and waste awareness.

As an associate media partner of The Green Awards, creativepool are pleased to announce that the prestigious prize for the Grand Prix 2007 went to Honda for their Honda Racing Formula 1 team's environmental "Earth" initiative. To find out more click here.

D&AD Exhibition at Urbis

October 2007 - February 2008

From exploding paint bombs on a Glasgow council estate to sell televisions (Sony Bravia), to a wind-up laptop that makes technology available in the remotest corners of the world (One Laptop per Child); the D&AD Exhibition, which has just launched at Urbis - Manchester's cultural exhibition centre, will enable visitors to learn the stories behind the advertising and design that impacts on our everyday lives and enjoy the work produced by hundreds of leading creative minds, worldwide.

Featuring award winning TV ads and mind-blowing music graphics, the exhibition will break down the creative process and examine how design and advertising have become subsumed into the world around us. The work is selected from nominees for the prestigious D&AD Awards, which recognise the most outstanding creativity in advertising and design each year. CV Search Upgrades

We've just upgraded our CV Search facility to help recruiters find your CV much more quickly and easily.

Our new search functionality allows multiple job titles and locations to be selected, whist annual salary has also been added to the search criteria.

To celebrate these enhancements we're offering recruiters 2 months of unlimited CV searches for the price of 1.

If you know of an employer who might find this offer appealing, please us know by emailing Luke with the company name and contact details here. To thank you we'll give you a free portofolio upgrade.

Featured Recruiter

Each month we ask a recruiter that uses creativepool to give us a bit of information about what they do. This month it's With Us.

After months of hard work and planning, Graphics Personnel has a new name and brand: With Us.

Our success at all levels of Creative, Creative Services and Studio recruitment across Print and Digital meant we'd simply outgrown our original name. However, one thing hasn't changed: our commitment to matching great clients with talented candidates across the advertising, design, communications and marketing, retail, in-house, corporate and publishing industries.

So, if you think we can help you, or you just like our new look, do get in touch here.
