Stammering - The King's Speech, the techniques and the technology

Ashley's Blog When resident Creativepool blogger Ashley wrote a blog about The King's Speech and his own experiences as a lifelong stammerer, he didn't quite expect to be invited on to Radio 4 to talk about it.

Neither did he expect to have to set aside most of the weekend to deal with messages of enquiry, interest and congratulation. But so it was.

Ashley discusses how technology has (or hasn't) helped stammerers in everyday life, how Lionel Logue's unorthodox methods have carried over into modern therapy, and how he's 'just wired wrong'.

We don't need no education - why the smart kids skip college

Jessica's Blog Students have never been known for having much money. It's a given that you head off to University with the expectation that you'll be living off 13p noodles and Lambrini for the next few years. What they don't tell you is that on the other side of it, you aren't much better off.

With the recession still in full swing and the marketplace for jobs in the creative fields being tougher and more competitive than ever, it can seem almost impossible to secure an interesting career with a salary generous enough to start paying off your loan with.

The Governments rise in tuition fees has sparked outrage and even violence amongst young people and it's totally understandable, as the 'lost generation' would we be better off bypassing expensive and useless degrees for worldly experience?

Read on for the full rant.

Meet Rob Self-Pierson. Freelance copywriter and board director of 26

XXXXXXXXXXX Is a bit of naivety a good thing? Well, Rob Self-Pierson believes it is. When he was just 24 years old and still learning his trade as a copywriter, he chucked his job in and went freelance.

He didn't know any better but say's he hasn't looked back since. Fine, but what sort of person goes for walks around the UK during the middle of the night? And getting messages from White Witches and career advice from tarot.com. Who in their right mind does that kind of stuff?

Well Rob Self-Pierson does. And the strange thing is, it turns out he's quite a sensible chap.
