It's completely sold out but register on the waiting list and we'll let you know about the next one.

Go Compare turns on Gio Compario

You might have noticed a vandalised Billboard featuring Go Compare’s fictional opera singer Gio Compario recently and had a little chuckle to yourself. But this is not the work of a rebel with a step ladder, this is the latest big-budget advertising campaign from Go Compare who are turning on their very own bellowing mascot in order to turn a few heads.

Euro 2012: flags with a twist

Our enthusiasm for Euro 2012 may have wavered when England got booted out thanks to a load of Ashleys missing the goal during the penalty shootout with Italy. But Creativepool's own Ashley has hit the back of the net with an interview with Dave Williams, a designer and illustrator from Liverpool who came up with some fantastic flag-with-a-twist designs for various Magic Moments in the European Championships of yesteryear. Agency

Publicis takes control of BBH

Publicis Groupe has taken over complete control of Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), ten years after taking a 49% stake in BBH in 2002. This move by the French advertising group ends the independence of one of the most well-recognised agencies in advertising. Nigel Bogle denies that the agency will lose control of it's destiny.

Copywriting

A wake-up call for copywriters

Back in the 60’s and 70’s copywriting was regarded as one of the key craft skills in the industry. Today there are more copywriters, writing more and more copy, but is the role as vital as it once was? John believes that the currency of the copywriter is on the wane and he reckons writers should be doing something about it.

What are YOU going to do about it?

Advertising

Skip this. Why online broadcast ads are a disaster.

Broadband was supposed to open a whole new platform for advertisers. Thanks to new technology, broadcast ads could now be produced and distributed at a fraction of the cost of telly spots. But surveying the web, it's all starting to look like a missed opportunity. What went wrong? Magnus Shaw investigates.
