Apple overtakes Google as the world's most valuable brand

A study carried out by research company Millward Brown has revealed that Apple has overtaken Google as the most valuable brand in the world.
Google has taken up the number one slot for the preious four years but Apple has now secured it's first place position and is believed to be worth approximately $153 billion. Google now occupies the second position with the brand believed to be worth $111 billion.
The Iphone has been a central part of Apples succes but the real driving force behind the brands movement into the top position is generally believed to be due to the huge popularity of the IPad. The recent release of the IPad2 has caused a huge amount of worldwide attention.
Apple and Google were joined by several other household technology names in the list including IBM in third place, Microsoft in fifth and Facebook were able to break into the top one-hundred by coming in at number thirty-five.
