Havas Worldwide

Havas Worldwide has announced Coral Garvey as head of art for the New York office. In her new role, Coral will collaborate with senior leadership across the agency's portfolio to ensure Havas' creative offering is best in class. She'll report to Jason Musante, managing director and group ECD of Havas Worldwide New York. He said that “From her Cannes Grand Prix winning campaign for Diesel, to her industry defining design for Apple, Coral’s work speaks for itself,” and he “Couldn’t be happier that she’s joining the team.” Garvey, meanwhile, is “Thrilled to be joining a team that truly practices integrating and collaborating across all creative efforts.”

Wunderman

Chris Perry is leaving his post as joint chief executive at Fabric to join WPP sister agency Wunderman as the agency’s new UK chief executive. Perry was appointed following the promotion of previous UK CEO Mel Edwards to the role of chief executive, EMEA. Perry will report to Edwards, who is also the UK chairman of Wunderman. Perry is tasked with taking the UK agency forward following a successful two-year period under Edwards during which Wunderman won accounts from News UK, Virgin Media Business, Shell and Coca-Cola. He will focus both on current clients and on leading the agency’s new-business drive. Edwards said that Perry “Has a fantastic pedigree, having worked and run some of the industry’s top agencies,” and that “Not only does he bring a new skill set to the business, but he’s a really nice guy.” Perry adds that "Wunderman is one of the most well-known data-driven creative agencies not only in the UK but globally.” He feels that “Under Mel’s leadership the agency has gone from strength to strength in the UK” and “Can’t wait to take on the responsibility of helping drive the business to the next level.”

 

Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo

Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo has announced John Rowe as the agency’s new managing director. Rowe will join executive creative directors Tota Hasegawa and Mike Farr to complete the management team for W+K Tokyo, and replaces Blake Harrop who moved on to join W+K Amsterdam as new managing director. Dave Luhr, W+K president and partner, said that Rowe ”Is a strong and inspirational leader who fully appreciates the strengths and values of W+K.” And Rowe himself is “Beyond excited to move to Tokyo” and immerse himself in the unique Japanese culture.

 

Karmarama

Karmarama has boosted its creative department with a series of appointments to bolster its integrated offering. The agency has hired a new creative director and two creative teams to ensure the delivery of best-in-class creative across the entire customer journey. Jo Jenkins, formerly a Creative Partner at Proximity BBDO, joins to help creative direct the CRM output of the agency, Pete Loulianou and Ollie Agius join from Iris, where they were the lead creative team on the Adidas account, and Vicki Murfitt and Paul Crump join from Engine, where they created campaigns for clients including Santander, BMW, Heck Sausages and the Payments Council. Caitlin Ryan, group ECD at Karmarama, said they are “One of the few genuinely media-neutral, integrated ad agencies,” and for that to work, “You need best-in-class, highly talented creatives across the disciplines who are brilliant at collaborating.” She believes this is why “Karmarama is attracting such top level talent from many different places.”

 

JWT Sydney

JWT Sydney has appointed Steve Dodds as senior copywriter. One of Australia’s most experienced writers, Dodds was most recently at Whybin/TBWA Sydney, where he spent eight years. Prior to Whybin, he spent nine years at McCann-Erickson in Sydney and San Francisco, where he was creative director on Microsoft. He also had long stints at Y&R Sydney and Mojo. He will work across all accounts at the Sydney office. JWT Sydney ECD Simon Langley joked “It’s not easy these days finding a writer of Doddsy’s stature. He’s very tall.” Getting serious for second, he added that “His experience creating big brand ideas across almost every client category will be an invaluable asset to the agency.” Dodds said He's “Been doing quite a few things freelance with the folk at JWT over the past year and it has worked out really well,” so he's “Very excited to make the arrangement permanent.”

 

Kingsday

Kingsday announced three new hires this week. Simon Cachera, joins as digital and social strategist; Amanda Tonkin comes in as account manager; and Susanne Crooy will be starting as account manager. The new starters have been brought in to handle an increased workload in account management and the ramping up of Kingsday’s social media capabilities. Kingsday’s managing director Sander Volten said that 2015 is going to be a big year as Kingsday continues to grow. He said it's their aim to be “The agency to watch this year,” and they are”Always looking to work with people who are interested in the intersection of PR, interactive and advertising.” These new hires, he said “Will perfectly compliment the team” they already have in place.

Based in New York, Venantini is an independent consultant with a proven track record in advertising and production sales, having worked with top clients including Moxie Pictures, Digital Domain, RSA Films, and many more. She has worked in various sales, management, and business development roles both in-house and independently with top talent in advertising creative services, and her contacts and knowledge of the industry run deep. 72andSunny Amsterdam has named Richard Harrington as their new director of design. Harrington brings experience from across both the ad industry and art community to the role, with a cluster of award-winning campaigns to his name, for a mix of brands that includes Adidas, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Pepsi and Bacardi. He joins the diverse team of 24 different nationalities to look over the entire design output; from mobile innovation with Google, to product design with Carlsberg and everything in between. 72andSunny Amsterdam’s ECD Carlo Cavallone, said they are “Very happy to welcome Richard to the family.” and feels that “His experience and knowledge add a new level of intelligence and beauty” to their work and culture. Harrington added that he's “Very excited to be joining the creative powerhouse and to be back in Europe.”

This week, Mindshare North America announced the appointment of Rolf Olsen as chief data officer. Olsen will lead the agency’s 70-strong Marketing Sciences group, and will drive new tools and data partnerships for THE LOOP, Mindshare’s adaptive marketing engine. He will be based in New York, and reports to Colin Kinsella, CEO of Mindshare North America. Kinsella said Olsen “Has the kind of grit” that Mindshare look for in their talent, and the creative thinking that helps them “Make media a competitive advantage” for their clients. Olsen said “Data and insights are the cornerstones of everything Mindshare does,” and he's “Excited by the great work they’re doing across The LOOP and the entire Marketing Sciences team. He “Can’t wait to join in.”

Independent agency Fold7 has appointed Marc Nohr as chief executive officer. Nohr brings a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years of industry experience to the role. As well as winning numerous personal and agency accolades, he has twice been elected to the board of the IPA, chaired the DMA awards and has also been awarded Honorary Life Fellow of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing for services to training. Ryan Newey, Fold7 founder and executive creative director, said that Nohr “Has an amazing track record of creating success and growth” and feels he is joining the agency “At a very exciting time” as they continue a pattern of significant year on year growth. Nohr adds that he looks forward to helping Fold7 “Become a destination brand for clients and talent who share their creative ambition.”

Suresh Ramaswamy joins Grey Group Singapore as digital lead/regional director for Southeast Asia, and will report to Subbaraju Alluri, CEO of Grey Group Singapore.

Prior to Grey, Ramaswamy was the regional director of social and mobile for Leo Burnett Singapore, where he worked on brands such as P&G and Friesland Campina ASEAN. Alluri said “Suresh is able to deliver innovative and forward-thinking solutions to challenges faced in the digital field,” and says he is a “Welcome addition to the Grey family.” 
Ramaswamy adds that “Grey is a dynamic agency that’s been delivering terrific work,” and he feels that with his experience in digital, he can “Build on this momentum to deliver work that’s integrated and makes best use of the opportunities to move people, with technology.”
