Grey London launch Grey Response CRM and Direct Marketing division with WDMP

Grey London has launched Grey Response: a new Direct Marketing and CRM division in partnership with the UK’s leading independent CRM agency, WDMP. At the core of this new offering will be data science, conversion analytics, customer experience planning, programmatic, demand generation and loyalty. The unit will combine Grey’s culture-defining creative work with modern one-to-one real time marketing. Grey Response launches with three founding clients: Vodafone UK (specifically, its direct response/demand generation business), Fidelity (in an extension of Grey’s existing remit on that business) and Marks & Spencer, following Grey’s capture of the £60 million retail account earlier this year. As part of the partnership, WDMP’s data science unit, The Science Dept, will provide a full suite of data-driven services and tools to Grey Response’s client base. These include its pioneering signal-driven, one-to-one communication that delivers personalised messages to consumers, based on predictive modelling, through both conventional and digital channels and with a high level of automation.

The division will be headed by Wayne Brown, COO of Grey Group UK, and led by a senior team comprising: Nathan Gainford as Managing Partner, Cressida Eatson-Lloyd as Creative Director, Tim Hopkins as Strategy Director and Laura Castrillo as Director of Analytics. Gainford joins from creative consultancy, Animl. He previously led the UK’s largest digital and direct account, O2, at Lida, and oversaw the £36 million Virgin Media Business at DDB. He has also spent time at Elvis and Dare. Eatson-Lloyd was one of the original employees at VCCP, where she helped set up its original integrated offering and led everything from integrated campaigns on O2 to DM campaigns for Hiscox to digital campaigns for McDonalds. She has recent years consulting for various agencies including Wunderman, Geometry, Rapp and OgilvyAction. Hopkins, who joined Grey earlier this year, has held a variety of senior strategic and management roles at agencies including Table19, Rapp and Kitcatt Nohr. Castrillo has been working with GreyPOSSIBLE and POSSIBLE for the past three years. She has previously held senior analyst roles at companies including Wunderman and Blue Hive. The team will also be supported by 12 new hires across creative, strategy, account management and data planning, as well as the full team at WDMP.
