The Company

Our client is a very well-established (yet still growing!), specialist online retailer with more than 3,000 employees across 24 European countries, the USA, Canada and South Africa. The UK operation is based in Warwick where they operate two ‘direct to consumer’ websites as well as partnering with leading retailers including Boots and Jessops.

The Role

As Web Designer, you will sit within the Design and Development team, reporting to the Digital Manager and working alongside Web Developers and the Online Marketing Team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role which will give you lots of variety, and see you taking full ownership of all your projects. You will be involved with ‘kick off’ meetings, wireframing, creating high-quality, pixel-perfect designs, presenting your designs to internal stakeholders, converting approved designs into working HTML/CSS, and also using Wordpress to create new website content and update existing pages.

It is essential that you track the progress of your projects, ensure correct implementation of the brand guidelines, test websites to ensure cross-browser compatibility for all channels, analyse user behaviour using heatmaps and screen recordings, and conduct A/B testing for optimise website performance. There will also be further requirements from the Online Marketing team including artwork for digital and social media channels.

About You

You are a digital enthusiast and have ideally been working within an e-commerce environment? You love producing stunning web visuals and are always up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in web design. You have a strong understanding of responsive design and mobile-first methodology. You are a self-starter, totally confident with interpreting briefs, have excellent attention to detail and are able to effectively organise your days, juggle multiple projects and set your project timelines with accurate timescales for delivery. You have strong communication skills and are at ease with presenting your work, and the ability to take direction and constructive feedback from senior members of the team.

Software Skills:

· Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator

· A working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 and the desire to develop these skills
