Background

Tossed is London’s leading healthier eating operator, offering a broad range of all-day healthy food led by its signature tossed-to-order salads.  Our ethos is that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring and we meet a demand for a mainstream healthier alternative via a likeable, differentiated brand.  The business is privately owned by management, well financed for growth by Santander and currently crowdfunding to expand the brand dynamically over the next few years. 

Tossed has 24 stores secured, with more openings in the pipeline. Currently, there are stores in and around London, six in motorway services stations and three in Dubai. We like to have fun at work and guest service underpins everything we do. A unique opportunity is presented to join a small head office team at an exciting time.  The head office (aka the Greenhouse) is based behind the Baker Street store.

The role and its responsibilities

Reporting to the Founder, the key role of the Social Media & Comms Whizz Kid is to grow our brand across the social media & online channels and develop relationships to increase brand loyalty with our guest base.  This would include:

  • Utilise social channels with an active food community (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
  • Boost online: develop our online offering and drive guests to use online ordering through our app and also website when available
  • Content production and copy; Newsletter, blog etc.
  • Build the brand: Add value to guests with a big focus on nutrition (website/emails/blogging). Educate about different uses of our products, create useful content.
  • Effective promotions - be a market leader and ahead of the game in our social & guest comms
  • Engagement: Become a brand that new and existing guests alike frequently interact with.
  • Guest Feedback - response in a timely and appropriate manner to all feedback received through various channels. Build trust and loyalty whilst retaining our fun
  • Effectively communicate externally and internally the Tossed square core values - people, fun, service, quality

  • Relevant industry experience is welcomed but by no means essential. 
  • The team have an ethos of working hard but enjoying themselves, which will appeal to the right candidate. 
  • Would suit a graduate or someone with a year or two of experience.
