Are you interested in defining the way we visualise huge amounts of data? Do you have the power to create experiences that represent a huge advance? Do you get frustrated by bad design and want to make it stop?
We are looking for a UX Lead Designer who is passionate about visualisation and innovative design, but who also has the ability to design within real-world constraints and solve practical interface problems.

We are looking for someone with a creative mindset with an eye for detail to work closely with all areas of engineering as a UX Designer to help us develop and shape the design of our products to allow our clients to understand the nuances and impact of this data in the quickest and simplest way possible.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Discussing and defining requirements with product managers and engineers, to ensure the vision and experience is baked into the product
  • Training engineers on design and experience, helping them to understand our client’s visions and feedback
  • Translating and then displaying highly complex information in a compelling way. Databases look boring, especially databases with petabytes of data, help us change that!
  • Working with our engineers and client team to create flows and taxonomies for applications and information
  • You’ll have to test these suggestions - you’ll be visiting clients and chatting to our own internal team about the clients’ needs

What you’ll need

  • Proven competence and project experience in the design of transactional and informational applications based on audience needs.
  • Project experience demonstrating conceptualisation, documentation of interfaces and interactions that fulfil user experiences.
  • Understanding of key principles of cognitive psychology, interaction design and information architecture.
  • Some experience organising and conducting user testing sessions and interviews to collect and validate requirements;
  • A good understanding of the how your design will be implemented. Some experience with CSS and HTML is a plus!
  • Skills to create wireframes and prototypes using softwares like Axure/Omnigraffle/Balsamic (paper and pen also works sometimes!)
  • Exceptional communication skills with everyone from engineers to account managers both internally and externally

Plenty of perks

As well as the opportunity to solve complex problems in this exciting new era of big data, here’s what we offer:

  • Realistic performance related bonuses
  • Generous equity options mean you’ll own a piece of the pie
  • Excellent health and dental insurance packages
  • A relaxed approach to time off and enough holidays to see several corners of the world
  • Fridge fully stocked with healthy snacks and the ultimate espresso machine for your java fix
  • A competitive office where we play foosball, football, scrabble, go-karting... you name it, we’ll play it
  • Thank Qubit it’s Friday - we have lots of creative ways to let off steam at the end of the week
  • Plenty of opportunities for training and development
