Acting as guardian of the brand style guide online, this role is responsible for designing and producing considered interfaces for House of Fraser’s online channels to bring to life the magic of House of Fraser.

You will lead and manage the design, production and front-end development teams to motivate, develop, and to bring to life the vision with them. They will feel empowered to find creative solutions for commercial challenges, always with the customer at the centre of their thought-process.  

Key Responsibilities:    

·         Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to create and translate ideas into innovative and engaging visual designs for the web site, emails, social networks, banners and other digital channels.

·         Owns the online visual portrayal of the House of Fraser brand and core values through the development of online design, production and development

·         Ensures consistency and quality of customer experience by testing work on major browsers and devices prior to release/publishing

·         Continually improves and recommends ways to evolve the user experience based on research gathered from customer insight and testing. Encourages team to do the same

·         Manages internal customers’ expectations by maintaining a service level agreement, documenting procedures and reviewing a release checklist

·         Leads and manages the design, production and development teams

Management Responsibilities:

   

·         Recruits, trains and retains a high calibre team

·         Inspires and motivates their team to deliver consistent customer service and KPI achievement, coaching them to maximise potential and improve skills

·         Sets and reviews key objectives, monitoring the performance and progress of individuals, and initiating appropriate steps to drive or celebrate improvements  

·         Manages relationships through effective planning, organisation and communication

·         Keeps fully informed of developments in their business to maximise results, and instils commercial acumen among their team

Desired Skills and Experience

 

 

 

·         Extensive digital & UI design experience and a portfolio that shows brilliance

·         Art, Design or Media based Degree (or equivalent experience)

·         Experience of managing multiple projects to tight deadlines

·         Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite

·         Excellent understanding of web usability, accessibility and SEO and knowledge of how to test them

·         Thorough working knowledge of email best practice and testing in mail clients

·         Excellent verbal and written skills, with proven ability to communicate complex ideas and to design and document projects in a clear, concise way

·         Experience interacting directly with stakeholders at all levels

·         Keeping abreast of latest trends and emerging technologies on the web

·         Embracing creativity and innovation, and is open to new ideas

·         Motivated self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

·         Experience of multi channel retail, preferably in fashion

·         Experience of working with an ecommerce platform such as Demandware and a CMS system such as Amplience or Wordpress

·         Understanding of techniques to animate on the web

·         Knowledge of publishing video

·         Experience of syndicating content to/from social networks

·         Understanding of HTML and CSS

·         Experience of designing mobile interfaces either websites or apps

·         Knowledge of task and time management software such as Jira
