APL Media Limited, a travel and lifestyle content marketing agency based in Kentish Town, seeks a junior to mid-weight designer to work across their portfolio.

APL Media Limited seeks a junior to mid-weight designer to join their fast-growing team working across various disciplines, most importantly in print.

If you have an excellent eye for detail and a passion for creating strong layouts for magazines and digital projects - and are able to work to deadlines - then we’d like to meet you.

Perhaps you have some experience of running your own project - print or digital - but if not, what counts is your willingness to get stuck in, learn, grow and become part of a superb team. 

As part of this role you'll be liaising with the editorial and production departments as well as clients to ensure you can meet the requested briefs.

Being fluent in Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a given, with some experience of digital design skills such as Adobe DPS and HTML/CSS a plus.

Design responsibilities

To assist in designing all our content across all platforms in print and digital (apps, page turning magazines), newsletters (using HTML) and web content. Our portfolio includes National Geographic Traveller, ABTA Magazine, ASTAnetwork, Supplements, Newspaper Inserts, CountryByCountry.com. Skills required

• Mac OSX
• Creative Cloud
• Adobe DPS
• Dreamweaver, including a working knowledge of HTML
• An understanding of Adobe DPS and uploading to Digital Publishing Suite

Job spec

• Report to the Editorial Director and Group Art Editor
• Working as part of the design team, leading projects once trained
• Liaising with editorial team and sales
• Managing projects from concept right through to publication, including client liaison where required
• Picture management: image researching and picture budgeting, sourcing illustrators/pictures, talking to picture libraries and working with a picture researcher
• Involvement in our digital offerings from a design and branding perspective
