He has over 20 years experience in sound mixing in the USA, India, and Japan. He specialises in features, documentaries, commercials and corporate videos with the latest equipment for location recording.
Giles has worked with diverse directors such as Woody Allen (Vicky, Christina, Barcelona), Larry Charles (The Dictator), Morgan Spurlock (Comic Con), Errol Morris (iPhone commercials), Academy Award winner Ross Kaufmann (Fire with Fire), Academy award nominee Amy Berg (Bhutto) and John Pilger (The Coming War) to name a few.
His films have won many awards such as Best Editing (We Are X), Grand Jury prize , Sundance (Personal Velocity) Best Director, Sundance (Fishing Without Nets), FIPRESCI Best Film award , Venice (Goodbye Solo), Special Jury Prize, Sundance (Four Sheets to the Wind) and have been exhibited in all the major film festivals such as Berlin,Cannes, Toronto, SxSW, Busan etc.
He has worked in countries under very difficult conditions such as Indonesia ( Brainiacs), India, Mexico (Cielito Lindo), Bahrain (A Bahraini Tale), Egypt (Omar Khayyam), Uzbekistan (The Keeper), Sri Lanka (Vara), Micronesia (Yamato), Uganda (Teaching sound mixing to locals), Ethiopia (Becoming Human).
