About me

I am a writer with an insatiable curiosity. I delight in discovering exciting things and collecting them, magpie-like. But I am a generous and talkative magpie. I need to share my findings, and so I write articles and plays and fiction about my plethora of interests. I used to write a humour column for the computer magazine SACM, and I now write for an online arts magazine called This is Not Art. I am lucky in this job because I have been given free licence to write about whatever theatre topics I like.

One of my particular interests is the persistently contradictory functioning of humans. I have a background in psychology, which I have transplanted into my work as a writer and theatre maker. I tried to feed my curiosity with research while I was in psychology, however this was unfulfilling. I realised that I am unavoidably an artist. That's how I make sense of the world. Artistic expression nourishes me and is what I love about life. So I became a writer / playwright / theatre maker.
