The role of Designer is to develop innovative new products within the New Era Cap portfolio including concept and prototype development.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the latest fashions and recognize trends in targeted markets
  • Design and sketch original product ideas
  • Create programs for specific market needs from design conception to headwear prototype
  • Work closely with Product Managers during the product development process and to help them visualize customer needs
  • Help support Junior designers

Knowledge and Experience

Through design experience and a portfolio of original work, you must be able to demonstrate skill and knowledge in each of the following areas:

  • Ability to design an entire product, technically addressing fit, pattern, fabric and apparel design.
  • A proven level of artistic and composition ability that has moved a product or program forward.
  • Ability to translate colour, material and attitude into products.
  • Organizational, time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience in design software including Illustrator, Photoshop and In-design
  • Multiple projects and meet deadlines

Education

  • Preferably a graphic design or fashion related degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C
  • Competent IT skills on a Mac or PC
