Wimbledon Head Office, South London

Make the most of your English and German language skills creating copy for our marketing materials and website.

As an established international food retailer, with over 590 stores in the UK alone, Lidl are one of the UK's retail success stories. Our simple retail philosophy and efficient working practices allow us to focus on what we do best - providing top quality products at the lowest possible prices. After 19 years, we are still rapidly expanding throughout the UK and our vibrant in-house Advertising Department is now looking for a creative and enthusiastic junior Copywriter/Artworker.

In this fast-paced deadline-driven team environment you will research products and translate German into English to create concise and engaging copy for different markets. In fact you will be creating descriptive copy for a vast array of interesting consumer products including DIY, Garden, Fashion, Household, Car, Health & Beauty and much more. You will use your language and proof reading skills on contracts, letters, articles, specifications and website editorial, constantly liaising with internal departments and external contacts. Seeing your own words in print and reaching a national or even international audience is a rewarding feeling. You will also help with the production of artwork for our weekly leaflets.

With mother tongue level English you should be proficient in written and spoken German. Highly accurate with an eye for detail, you must have first class English writing and composition skills and be an excellent communicator able to work in a team or individually. Ideally Mac conversant with intermediate InDesign skills, you should be an independent thinker and problem solver with good interpersonal talents and professional approach, results driven with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Our company philosophy dictates that we never compromise on quality and neither do our Advertising Department - so be prepared to work to the very highest of standards.

With excellent long term career prospects, a £20K starting salary, 30 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays) and a contributory pension scheme, you will enjoy the variety of your role in a highly professional team and the satisfaction that your input will make a real contribution to our success.

Your application should reflect your high standards and attention to detail. Please select ‘APPLY’ to make a direct online application.
