Proof Readers/Quality Controllers - Birmingham - £20-25k DOE

This established Midlands based Design and Communications Agency are seeking an experienced Proof Readers/Quality Controllers to join an expanding and busy agency.

As Proof Reader/Quality Controller your responsibilities will be as follows:

Responsible for QC and proof reading of all clients work, ensuring copy within all design and artwork created within the studio is correct to details as specified in the QC proof reading process.

Ensure all artwork is produced to the highest standards and that all artworks within each promotion is correct with spelling, punctuation, typographical layout and brand copy consistency per client.

Ensure correct filing and system management is followed, ensuring no duplication of the same artwork files exist.

Ensure correct protocols are followed for archive and asset management purposes, ensure within the QC process, file name structures are created as per specific client protocols.

Ensure all detail within the artwork slug is also correct, this is as important to ensure the slug detail is correct, as it is the actual artwork.

After viewing artwork, confirm via the QC guidelines all parts of the artwork are correct to standard before any artwork is passed to production, ensure the copy sign off process has taken place.

Actively manage the flow of QC work in conjunction with Production – it is imperative the QC workload is being done in the order production require the work by.

Ensure consistency of artwork creation with all Mac Operators on both shifts from a copy point of view.

Develop a rapport with all Account Management to foster relationships of trust and mutual respect.

Check all copy within artwork is as the client copy supplied.

Check correct spelling of all copy, use the English Concise Dictionary as you base source for checking of correct spelling.

Help create a department of excellence when it comes to copy standards, consistent typographical layout and copy brand copy consistency per client.

Ensure correct punctuation is applied to all artworks and consistent throughout all artworks created, particularly within artworks in the same promotion.

Ensure good typographical layout is applied, ensure widows are spotted, ensure consistent deployment of leading and kerning are applied and ensure consistency across artworks within a campaign for all clients.

Once artwork is approved, you are responsible in ensuring all artworks are uploaded to Mediacentre, it is vitally important the correct artwork is uploaded to the right line within Mediacentre, this can be done by way of checking the file name on the slug and relate to the correct line within Mediacentre.

Ensure that procedures, systems and paper work are adhered to at all times.

Build and maintain excellent relationship with all internal departments, help maintain a can do attitude within the team.
